saw a local CL add for an EFI 460 for dirt cheap and was wondering if there was anything specific I should watch out for when checking it out? Apparently #8 has very low/no compression but I am going to tear it apart for a rebuild anyhow (and get new pistons). Overall goal is 9-9.5:1cr, low to mid RPM with the occasional ricer stomping to be had, and a power goal of about 400-450hp. I can do a lot of port work myself to save quite a few $$$. Also wondering about intake selection, I'm not gonna run any sort of EFI shenanigans, all carbed all the time, and was wondering how you guys felt about the weiand stealth vs edlebrock performer/performer RPM/air gap or what other low buck intakes you guys might think of.

The intake ports on the EFI engine are different than the passenger car type head. The Stealth or any of the standard intakes wont line up on the port opening. Headers are specific to that engine also. Might could make the headers work with some elbow grease.

I believe Price & ?? makes some adaptors for the Early intakes to the EFI heads, but they are expensive.

th deal is $100 for the whold motor except the EFI stuff. If I had the choice I'd rather get a couple sets of brackets and pulleys off older car motors because I already have 2 short block builders but all the bracketry and whatnot is gone.
