4.390 bore
6.800 rod
4.300 stroke
4500 victor intake 1050p dominator 96 jets
73 cc tfs street heads ported
35 degree timing
probe flat top pistons 12.9 compression
cam specs IN.lift .738 EX. .722 lash @ .022 .024
@.050 268-279 custom lunati
.020 300-314
110 lobe sep installed @ 106 centerline
trans brake c6 with a 5000 converter 29x10.5 tire 4.10 gears
car with driver 3126 pnds
5.99 in the 1/8

new camshaft 275-283 @.050 .735 .733 lift 110 lobe sep ,tickflow 4500 intake ,1150 dominator, ford racing ex valves and milling heads for 13.6 compession, new roll cage, est of 3226 pnds,

this new set up slowed my car down, not sure why yet, thinking about changing the cam back again. e.t. in the 1/8 now is 6.10 , I feel the 1150 0r the 7 degrees of cam duration caused the problem, the cam leaves with a 1.27 60 foot on motor but feels like it will not accelerate after shifting to 2nd kinda sounds like it lugs down
Did a little more tuning and got a 6.00 at 9.42 , it back where it was , but still should be faster

What did you do to make the car gain a 100 pounds? Adding the cage should also make the car stiffer and change the suspension requirements.
More cam, bigger intake and larger carb probably need 250 more RPM so, also .3 more rear gear.

cage was 95 pounds ,didnt have one at all, i shifted it higher till it slowed down then used the best rpm
i have been 9.43 with the old set up, best now has been 9.52 in the 1/4
i dont know if the engine liked the 11 degree split in the old cam or what. I know the e.t. is not much off but seems like the compression and intake should have helped some, the old intake was a none ported 4500 victor.

You went up a little bit on the cam, a carb change to match and added compression. You say it feels like it "lugs down" after the shift and it slowed up in ET. Often when I have screwy things go on like this that seem to defy logic I start looking elsewhere. Could you have something else going on like spent tranny clutches or falling beneath the converter's actual stall speed on the 1-2 shift?

cam specs you post read ... 110 LSA ,
then you post 106 install on both .

Think you better do it again . you got someting wrong with those numbers

my screw up . ..both (2)cams installed at 106
