Finally.... to the track !!

After a LONG wait.....we finally made it to the track last night. The Ga boyz crew went to our local outlaw track for their opening night.
Going in, we knew it might not be the best thing, but we needed to get out and do something.. We put Dee in the seat and had at it.

Let me say first, that this thing is a BEAST !! From the dyno sheet, we knew Phillip had done a great job with the engine. But when you stand next to it,
as the car does a burn out, you can tell this thing WILL BE bad azz fast. Just ask any of the crowd near the starting line..

The night did not turn out as planned. The track had almost no good rubber down. The crewchief ( me) should have back the timing down, and I didn't.
It was a case of too much power, for too little track and not enough crewchief..
As you will see in the vid, The car shook the tires HARD.. hard enough to kick BOTH the collectors off the headers..
We got back to the pits and examined the damage, one collector was bent too bad to get it back on, so our night was over..
Good thing was, that she didn't run over it and cut a tire or do more damage to the car..

Yep, nothing has changed at our track. Nice facility but run like a Circus. One hour late getting started, no grip in the track, clocks not working correctly, status quo . Let me tell you Mikey is right about being a beast. As Deanna went by me it shook my teeth, and I forgot my ear plugs, Wow!

Tell Dee to hire a new Crewchief

Congratulations to all involved. You've always had difficulties with the track prep at Savannah, so take it to a real track and have some fun!

We pretty much knew it might be like that..But, we felt like we needed to get out and try to make some passes..
Don't think we would have this problem elsewhere, but the suspension is still set "soft" from the old engine..
Probably need to make some adjustments there...??

Charlie, we had planned to go to Silver Dollar right after the car show at Gulfstream, but being in the sun all day just drained the enthusiasm right out of us.

Eh, he'll get some seat time. I'll be busy shooting some Skeet & Trap this year and I don't have to share my guns with him

Running it with no collectors at all might have dropped enough mid range torque to get it off the starting line, LOL.

I thought about it... But the track was just SOOOOOO bad, it wasn't worth it...

Kind of like some of rough tracks we run some times it isn't worth the gamble.
