Wes your one of the best fab guys I know. You put plans into action as fast as I have ever seen. I would not surprise me if you have that thing fixed by the time I'm done typing this out. I really mean that by the way!

Did the "coupling" break and cause the mess or did whatever caused the mess, also cause the coupling to break...?

If that is true, then the broken coupler was the cause of the mess and not the other way around.

The spline failed on the back engine and turned the front shaft with the u joints into a battering ram. Crushed the alternator and knocked the water pump off. Shockwave shattered both headlights. Going back together with two hubs and a 40 spline axle in between with no u joints. I think I over thought it last time. Wanted u joints in case of flex. I don't think it will ever flex that much. This way if it breaks anything, it can't go anywhere, just stops pulling.
