need to remove shift lever pin

I'm changing the shift lever (D) to (ff) how do I get the pin out with out damaging anything. This is my maiden voyage into the transmission rebuild world. Thanks any help is always appreciated. Ben

Drop the pan and valve body, use a punch to drive the pin and plug into the bellhousing area, its held in with a press plug you can reinstall after you change leavers
